We would love to hear from big-hearted people of all backgrounds interested in serving as an Artizan International trustee. Artizan International's headquarters are located in Harrogate, supporting differently abled populations locally and overseas. As an organisation, we are founded on Christian principles of compassion, service and inclusion . We work with and welcome people of all faiths and none. Our staff and volunteers come from a variety of diferent walks of life and perspectives, including those with and without a faith background.
Trustees are vital to our organisation and oversee the strategic direction and governance of the charity whilst supporting the CEO and the staff and volunteers, helping keep us on the right path. The Trust board follows Charity Commission guidelines and we value the various skills that trustees bring, whether formal finance, governance ,legal, business and secretarial skills or informal qualities of encouragement, discernment, networking and support.
It's a hugely exciting time to get involved as Artizan continues to grow and develop its various strands in Harrogate, Equador and Peru. Trustees tend to meet formally on a quarterly basis and whilst there may be actions to complete between meetings, these are not onerous. The sense of reward and satisfaction is significant. Trustees really understand our work and feel passionate about our mission to enable , empower and support people with disabilities in the UK and the developing world.
“I’ve loved being involved over the years and seeing the charity grow and flourish. We get regular updates on progress and I feel part of a team.”
“It’s been satisfying to utilise my professional skills and really help Artizan develop in a sustainable way – it feels like we are really helping to make a difference in people’s lives.”
I became a trustee 7 years ago after taking early retirement. It has been a wonderful way to apply my lifetime of business skills for the benefit of the charity. It is extremely rewarding to see the difference the charity makes to people with disabilities in the UK and other parts of the world, and I'm so proud to contribute to its success."
